Silver Roses

I remember the days that are gone
The crystal keeps we used to know
I remember the silver roses
Oh my people, where did you go?

Our keeps, they are ringing with silence
Our bright roses no longer grow
Our lands are cold dark and empty
Oh my people, where did you go?

I have sought you in deepest shadows
Chasing the echoes of our songs
In crystal pools and stormy seas
I have searched these centuries long

I hear the ghosts of harps on the wind
Smell flowers that no longer grow
Did you leave only memories?
Oh my people, where did you go?

Oh my people, who are lost to me
Have you gone where the rivers flow?
Passed one and all through the final gate?
Oh my people, where have you gone?

I no longer seek out crystal keeps
Our lands I have forsaken now
Fled ghostly songs and dead dry roses
To the Three Ravens I will bow

I remember the days that are gone
Crystal keeps and silver roses
My people, could you not have left me
Even one shining silver rose?

Just one silver rose?
